Sky Cowboys

I've always really loved this picture of workers having a wee lunch break in the skeleton of a skyscraper being built in the 1930's.

Today, the New York Times has a very cool, very beautiful short video that incorporates photos and interviews with steelworkers at the new World Trade Centre site. There is also a beautiful slideshow. Here's a sampler, but it's worth going to read the commentary on each photo...

Heart In A Box: Beating Heart Technology at UCLA could revolutionize field of heart transplantation


Researchers at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center have built a machine that keeps a heart designated for transplantation active. Using this machine increases the amount of time that the organ can remain outside of a human body but still suitable for a transplant.
